\u200bThe Treasure State Acres Homeowners\u2019 Association voted unanimously last Thursday to hire an engineering firm to further refine its plans to deal with water runoff and drainage issues in the subdivision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those attending the HOA meeting made the vote after a long discussion with Calob Marquis of the county public works department. One of the primary issues discussed was the installation of a larger drainage pipe or a ditch at the east end of Buffalo Road \u2013 a project an engineering firm could design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The HOA has worked closely with the public works department on planning for maintenance and improvements in TSA\u2019s streets. With the county\u2019s help, the HOA hired the Peccia engineering firm to assess our streets and recommend a maintenance schedule in 2015. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2016 Peccia did another report that analyzed our street drainage problems and recommended improvements to our French drains. A portion of the work recommended was done last year when a number of drains were expanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During storms, excess water drains from south to the northeast corner of the subdivision, and some residents, particularly on the north end of Cougar, have experienced flooding in their driveways and even garages when runoff is particularly heavy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several residents along Cougar attended the meeting and said the situation has gotten better the last couple years in the wake of improvements recommended by Marquis, but they said they\u2019d like to see more done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marquis agreed that more should be done, noting that was one reason he\u2019d like to see an engineering firm hired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We hope to meet soon with county officials and an engineering firm, and hopefully that would lead to some work getting done next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At last week\u2019s meeting, we also learned from the county that our TSA RID fund currently contains about $90,000, with about $70,000 more expected to come in from 2022 property tax payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
